Delores Ellen Daugherty

Delores Ellen Daugherty, 74, loving mother and grandmother transitioned into her Heavenly home on Monday October 16, 2023, at Logan Regional Medical Center after decades of chronic illnesses.

She was born March 13, 1949, in Ypsilanti, MI to the late Charles “Pete” Howard and Flonnie (Chambers) Howard. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Herman Daugherty; brothers, Jimmy Howard, and sister, Vickie Lynn Toler.

Those left to continue her legacy are her daughter, Jimi (Jason) Baisden; grandsons, Dylan (Chelsea) Adkins of Logan, WV, and Connor Baisden of Man, WV; granddaughters, Alexa Adkins (Delores’ Mini), Rhianna Baisden, Jada Adkins, and Kaylee (Kaden) Underwood all of Logan, WV; sister, Brenda Howard of Bradenton, FL; Delores was loved by all her nieces, nephews, and extended family but special nieces include, Kim (Danny) Fields of Georgetown, KY, Gwen (Randy) Coleman of VA, Lori Allen, and Rachel Watkins both of Michigan. Delores loved big but she was also loved big by so many.

Delores’ medical team over the last 15 years became family. She felt great gratitude to all the doctors and staff that she relied on daily. Her medical team was lead by Dr. Mullen and his God’s gift of knowledge and caring allowed her valuable time to make so many great memories with her loved ones.

Honoring her wishes her remains are to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Akers-James Funeral Home with Pastor Lonnie Gore officiating. The family will receive visitors from 2 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday at the funeral home.
