Darla Dinene Miller

Darla Dinene (Shorter) Miller, 72, of Logan, WV, sadly passed away on Sunday July 3, 2022, following a short illness. 

She was born in Fairmont, WV on June 3, 1950, the daughter of the late William C. Shorter and Nellie Virginia Shaver.

She devoted her life to her children, husband, and many pets throughout the years. 

She enjoyed spending time with her family, her many animals, which included many rabbits, birds, cats, dogs, guinea pigs, and her most favorite, her poodle Monsieur, and most recently Little Bit and Spunky, tending to her flowers, and taking pictures of anything and everything. She loved playing on electronic devices and listening to music.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert Lee Miller, her siblings Joan Hulderman of LaGrange, GA, and Larry Shaver of Bolingbrook, IL, children, Darlina Oversen (Sean) of Jackson, MI, Robert Miller Jr. (Vanessa) of San Antonio, TX, Jennifer. Gross (James) of Logan, WV, Michelle Mullins (George) of Logan, WV, Mary Lipscomb (Jonathan) of Charleston, WV, and Mark Miller of Logan, WV, 10 grandchildren, Josh & Alex, Erica, Yasmin, & Noah, Zachary, Nikki & Morgan, Matthew & Kaleb and 3 great-grandchildren, Lillie, Parker, & Noah.

There will be no funeral services at her request. The family would like to express our gratitude for the care given by HospiceCare at CAMC Memorial Hospital and CAMC Cancer Center as well as many nurses and doctors at CAMC Memorial. At her request she will be cremated, and arrangements are being handled by Akers-James Funeral Home in West Logan, WV.
