Dannie Wooten, 67, loving father and husband, of Logan, died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. Born on July 10, 1947 in Logan County, he was the son of the late Tennis and Alice Wooten. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Thomas and Raymond Wooten; and three sisters: Brenda, Sharon, and Carol Wooten. He retired from Cabell Huntington Hospital as a Registered Phlebotomist after 24 years of service, a job he dearly loved and appreciated. Dannie is survived by his children, Major Jeff Wooten and Amoria Wise, two step-sons: Paul and Adam Grimmett; two daughters-in-law: Michelle Wooten and Erica Grimmett; one son-in-law, Jesse Wise; and three grandchildren: Evan Wooten, Jonathan Midkiff, and Cade Grimmett. A celebration of life will be conducted from 12 noon to 1pm on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the James Funeral Home Chapel in Logan. Entombment will follow at 1 pm at Highland Memory Gardens in Godby.
