Daisy Wellman

Daisy Mullins Wellman, 90, of Dingess departed this life August 16, 2015 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston WV. Born December 8, 1924 She was the daughter of the late Spencer and Cora Baisden Mullins of Dingess. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Leslie Wellman, four brothers, John, Ersel, Russell and Carlos Mullins, one sister, Della Hall and one step-daughter Edna McCloud. Daisy was a devoted wife, mother and home maker. She left home at the age of 18 and moved to New Jersey where she worked in a defense plant building shells for the US Navy during World War 2. She is survived by two daughters, Diana (Bob) Marcum of Ocala, Florida, Carol (Mike) Ratz of Wilkinson WV, two sons, Dennis (Debbie) Wellman of Verdunville WV and Mike (Wanda Browning) of Breeden, WV, five grandchildren, Steven Ratz, Karla Marcum Lloyd, Savannah, Dakota, McKenzie Wellman and Bryan Browning. Three great grandchildren, Ashton Hylton, Lydia, Justin and Devan Ratz. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Lesley Canterbury, who she cared for since childhood. Services will be conducted at the James Funeral Home Chapel, Monday, August 17, 6:00 – 9:00 pm and funeral service Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the Muncy Cemetery in Dingess, WV.
