Corda Jewell Morris

Corda Jewell Morris, 83 of Verdunville, WV passed away Sunday March 10, 2019 after a long illness surrounded by her loving family. Corda was born September 11, 1935 to the late Vennie and Virgie (Conley) Lambert. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by: her husband, Everett Morris Jr; son, Vennie Morris; brothers, Glen Lambert and Donald Lambert; sister, Ruth Lambert; granddaughter, Chasity Evans; grandsons, Jackie and Chad Morris. Corda was a lifelong member of Verdunville Church of God and attended Garrett Chapel Church at Garrett Fork. Corda had lots of bowling friends and she enjoyed her grandchildren. Special thanks to Dignity Hospice of Chapmanville, Iris Preece, Tammy Perry, and Tammy Burger, who assisted her at home. Corda is survived by: her daughter, Sandra (Steve) Bias of Garrett Fork, Chapmanville, WV; sons, David (Vanessa) Morris of Verdunville, WV, Buford (Teresa) Morris of Mansfield, OH, and James (Jeannine) Morris of Cleveland, TN; sisters, Ruby Ward of Mansfield, OH; grandchildren, Cynthia (Keith) Miller, Vennie (Patricia) Morris, Julie Morris, Zachary (Misty) Morris, and Karlianna Morris; 9 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday March 13, 2019 at Akers-James Funeral Home at Logan with Rev. Scottie Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
