Clyde R. McKnight, 81 of Whitman passed away Monday January 4, 2016 at Logan Regional Medical Center. Born July 24, 1934 in Rush, KY he was the son of the late Ogier Thomas McKnight and Mary Lee Workman McKnight. In addition to his parents his was also preceded in death by his brothers George McKnight, Eddie Gene McKnight, Thomas McKnight and Jerry McKnight. Mr. McKnight was a longtime member of Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church where he was the choir director for over 30 years and was recently attending Cornerstone Fellowship Church. Clyde built mining equipment most of his life and was also a veteran of the United States Air Force. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Deanna McKnight; sons Kevin and Philip McKnight; his daughter Linda (Hugh Phillips) McKnight; brother David McKnight; special niece Ashley Varney and grandchildren Taylor and Tyler. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday January 8 at James Funeral Home in Logan with Rev. Richard Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Friday also at the funeral home.
