Charles (Rick) Richard Adkins

Charles Richard "Rick" Adkins 64 of Mitchell Heights departed this life Sunday July 12, 2009 at his residence. He was born February 10, 1945 at Holden a son of the late Edgar and Gladys Adkins Adkins. Also preceding him in death was his brother Jerry and two sisters Joy Herald and Lois Spaulding. Rick was the owner/operator of the Holden Water Company for 13 years. He was a member of the Roscoe Adkins Monday Night bowling league and the Tuesday Night Richard Crosier League at Plaza Lanes. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 42 years Sandra Jane Adkins, Two Sons Shane (Tina Browning) Adkins of Holden and Chad (Claudia) Adkins of Hemet, California, One Granddaughter Mia Adkins, Three Grandsons Jordan Adkins, Cameron Adkins and Trevor Browning, a special Aunt Naomi Jackson of South Point, Ohio and a very special neice Katie Scaggs of Logan, a sister-in-law Ruth Ann Adkins Waters of Hickory, North Carolina a former daughter-in-law Erica Silver Adkins of Holden, several neices and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday July 16, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alvis Porter, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday July 15, 2009 at James Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Wyatt Scaggs, Neal Scaggs, Eddie Walsh, Tom Wiles, David Brodkin, Greg Jackson, Rich Skibo and Jordan Adkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Vaughn and Dave Maynard.
