Cecelia June Nelson

Cecelia June Nelson, 68 of Mt. Gay, WV departed this life Thursday, November 11, 2021, at her home.

She was born June 29, 1953, in Logan, WV to the late Alice (Bruce) Frankum and Dewey Frankum. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Nelson Sr.; son, James Lee Nelson; grandson, William Seth Nelson; and brothers, Gary Frankum and Ray Frankum.

Cecelia was a devoted Christian and member of the Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church. She was also a retired CNA.

Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, John Nelson Jr. of Cora, Daniel (Cynthia) Nelson of Cora, and Matthew (Kellie) Nelson of Mudfork; daughter-in-law, Maggie Nelson of Lake’ seven grandchildren, Katherine (Christopher) Saylor, Victoria (Hank) Nelson, Christopher (Alexis) Nelson, Jeffrey (Abby) Nelson, Johnathon Nelson, Trevon Nelson, and Braxton Nelson; seven great-grandchildren, Colton and Levi Saylor, Gracelynn and Gracen Atwell, Dean and Lincoln Branham, and Maiya Branham, along with Susan Nelson; sisters, Liz Dent, and Bessie Muston; brother, Lester Frankum; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Tony Vance officiating.
