Carrie Blackmon

Carrie Vernice Blackmon 89 of Logan, completed her life journey Monday, January 11, 2016 at Trinity Healthcare Care of Logan. Born March 17, 1926 in Earling, WV., she was the daughter of the late Howard Davis and Elonia Davis. From this union was Curtis Davis, O'Dell Davis (deceased) and Ernest Davis (deceased). She married Ausburn Blackmon (deceased) and out of that union brought 10 boys and 3 girls. Carl Blackmon (deceased), Michael Blackmon (deceased) Ausburn Blackmon, Jr., (deceased), Ronald Blackmon, (deceased), Frederick Blackmon (deceased), Arthur Blackmon (deceased), Larry Blackmon (deceased). Mrs. Blackmon retired from Pride Community and Guyan Machinery Company. A long-time member of Cole Street Missionary Baptist Church in Aracoma. She leaves to cherish her memories her loving brother Curtis Davis (Dayton,OH), Barbara O'duro (Daniel) of Columbus,OH, Celestial Blackmon-Day (Samuel), Holden, WV, Patricia Blackmon, Charleston, WV, Tony Blackmon, Logan, WV, Keith Blackmon (Michelle) of Sickleville, NJ and Vincent Blackmon. 23 grandchildren and 24 great-great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday January 16, 2015 at James Funeral Home in Aracoma with Rev. Audie Murphy Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Boone Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday also at the funeral home.
