Billy Ray George, 67 of Aracoma, WV departed his life on January 05, 2021 at Logan Regional Medical Center after a long battle with dementia. He was born December 4th,1953 at Guyan Valley Hospital to the late Easter (Newsome) Day and Claude Bryant George Sr. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Hobert Day Sr. and Claude George and two sisters, Beliva Blankenship and Brenda Sue Maynard. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and a dear friend to many. Billy loved watching westerns, playing cards, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his son, Justin George, one brother, Clyde (Kay) Akers of Holden; three sisters, Betty (Bill) Carter of Holden, Linda (Leslie) Evans of Logan, and Donetta (Roosevelt) Allen of Logan; two grandkids, Zachary and Cody George of Logan; his nieces and nephews, Joshua Allen of Logan, Amber (Roger) Workman of Belfry, KY, Jay Stewart of Logan, Sambo Browning of Logan, Matt (Jodi) Carter of Mitchell Heights, Brian (April) Akers of Holden, Clyde Jr (KO) of Monaville and one special nephew and caregiver, Bradley (Denise) Akers of Aracoma and two great nephews, Brandon and Joshua Akers of Aracoma and Niece, Kristen (Austin) Akers of West Logan; two special friends, Kathy and Jeannie Street and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2021 at Akers-James Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2021 at Highland Memory Gardens at Chapmanville. Pallbearers will be Brian Akers, Sambo browning, Matt Carter, Donald Blankenship Jr, Dennis Blankenship. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Allen, Jay Stewart. In lieu of flower the family asks that donations be made to Akers-James Funeral Home to help with the arrangements.
