Billie Jo Adkins

Billie Jo Adkins 64 of Verdunville departed this life peacefully on Thursday April 9, 2009 at Logan Regional Medical Center. She was born August 27, 1944 . She was the daughter of the late Denver and Zelphia Perry Basiden. Also preceding her in death was one son-in-law Timothy Marcum. Billie was truly an inspiration and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed bowling, fishing and above all spending time with her family. Devoting many years supporting her grandkids throughout ball and cheerleading seasons she sonn became known as "Granny" to most . Billie was a dedicated wife, mother,grandmother and friend. She will be sadly missed. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 49 years Richard Adkins one son and daughter-in-law Keith and Nicole Adkins, Four daughters and son-in-laws Rhonda Marcum and Eric Brewer, Debbie and Dennis Wellman, Lisa Jo and Mike Vance and Lea Ann Adkins all of Verdunville, Eight Grandchildren Craig (Linsey Wooten), Zachary Marcum, Savannah, Dakota and McKenzie Wellman, Todd Deskins, Haleigh Vance and Grant Adkins all of Verdunville. Additional survivors include one sister Darlene (Don) Adams of Canton, Ohio, two brothers Denver Baisden Jr. of Columbus, Ohio and Stephen Michael Baisden of Chapmanville. A special caregiver Dotie Brewer and a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be held from 6-9 P.M. Sunday April 12, 2009 at Verdunville Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday April 13, 2009 with Rev. Mike Hartwell and Rev. Glenn White officiating. Burial will follow in the Marcum Cemetery at Verdunville. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons Craig Marcum, Grant Adkins, Todd Deskins, Zachary Marcum and Dakota Wellman. Honorary pallbearers include Jordan Moore, Jacob Miller, Louie Hensley, Junior Sanders, Anthony Perrin, Ethan McCallister and Ernie Wade Marcum. Online condolences amy be sent to www.jamesfh.com .
