Betty Gartin

Betty Gartin 76 of Dempsey Branch went to be with the Lord on Friday July 1, 2011 at Logan Regional Medical Center. She was born March 2, 1935 in Virginia. She was a dedicated member of the Verdunville Church of God. Also preceding her in death includes her husband Thomas Gartin, Father Robert Ireson, Mother Pearl Meade Ireson, two brothers and one sister. Those left to cherish her memory are her son Thomas Grover Gartin Jr.(Annette) of Dempsey Branch, daughter Debra Browning (David of Elizabeth City, N.C., Sandra Gillman (Darrell) of Dempsey Branch, Eddie Walsh (Amy) of Mitchell Heights, Tommy Gartin of Dempsey Branch, one sister Evelyn Dorton of North Carolina, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday July 5, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Verdunville Church of God at Verdunville with Rev. Michael Hartwell officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Monday July 4, 2011 at the church. Online condolences may be sent to www.jamesfh.com.
