Betty Lou Butcher, 79, of Holden, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Logan Regional Medical Center. Born April 23, 1935 at Shively, she was the daughter of the late Cleve Butcher and Matilda McKinney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Chauncey Butcher and Tracey Butcher; and two sons: Dennis Butcher and Larry Butcher. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 64 years, Corman Butcher; one sister, Elma Jean Howe; three granddaughters: Kayla (Mark) Vance of Holden, Jennifer (Danny) Dempsey of Duncan Fork, and Rachael (Daryl) Muncy of Duncan Fork; six great-grandchildren: Nathan and Abby Vance, Jenna and Haylea Dempsey, Jacob Curry, and Blake Muncy; special family, Phyllis and Drema Bias; and a host of other dear family and friends. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sep. 3, 2014 at 12 p.m. at the James Funeral Home Chapel in Aracoma with Rev. James Vance officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Godby. Friends may gather at the funeral home between 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sep. 2, 2014.
