Bess Elswick Klele

Bess Elswick Klele, 91, of Charleston, WV, formerly of Logan, WV, passed peacefully on March 20, 2018, at Kanawha Place in Charleston, WV. Bess was born on April 4, 1926, in Pike County, KY, the daughter of the late Amey Elswick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Klele, Jr., whom she married on the 6th day of May in 1949; brother, Aster Elswick and three sisters; Lucille Mullins, Billie Carte and Mabel Hatfield. She worked for many years at Logan Mercantile in Logan. She loved to travel with her husband as they did for many years. She formerly attended First Baptist Church of Logan and was a member of the Logan Country Club. She is survived by brother, Foster Elswick of Mount Carbon, WV, sister-in-law, Julia Klele, brother-in-law, Carl Klele both of Richmond, VA and her husband’s aunt, Mary Louise Corey (Fayz) of Montgomery, WV. She also has many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Funeral services will be held on March 24, 2018 at Akers-James Funeral home in Aracoma with Rev. H. Thomas Chaffin officiating. Family visitation will begin at 11:00 with public visitation at 12:00. The service will being at 1:00. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill, WV. Pallbearers will be family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.
