Barbara Ann Collins

Barbara Ann Collins, 53 of Holden returned to her heavenly home unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Ruby Memorial Hospital after complications arose following a battle with pneumonia. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. Born December 10, 1962, Barbara was the daughter of the late Mack and Lydia Barnette. She was blessed with a large and loving family and embraced her role as a loving wife and mother of two children of her own along with three step-children. She cherished her grandchildren. Barbara enjoyed attending church and living a Christian life, and she loved cooking for her church community. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Mack Barnette and Lydia (Hudson) Barnette. She is survived by her loving husband, James Daniel Collins; one daughter, Cynthia Collins; one son, Joshua Collins; two step-daughters, Vickie Lakatos and Bethany Collins; one step-son, James Daniel Collins II; and six grandchildren, Kaitlyn Manuel, Nadia Whitlock, Brennis Whitlock, Gabriella Danyelle Collins, Corey Lakatos, and Alexander Lakatos. She is also survived by her six brothers: Danny, James, Jerry, Bobby, Roger, and Ronald Barnette; one sister, Judy Lukacs, all of Logan County, WV. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016 at 7 & 8 Holden Freewill Baptist Church with pastor Rodney Spears officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. also at the church. Brothers will serve as pallbearers.
