Barbara Browning

Barbara Avonelle Browning, 81, of Logan went home to be with the Lord on June 26, 2026, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Danville, WV. She was born on August 4, 1944, in Chapmanville, WV to the late Robert and Dorothy Pritchard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Mark George; her sisters Alma Gail Starkey and Linda Griffith; and her brothers, Hurston Pritchard, Cletis Pritchard, Troy Pritchard, and Jerry Pritchard.

Barbara was a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Logan for more than 50 years, where she enjoyed singing, helping with hot dog and bake sales, going to church camp, and many other church activities. In her younger years, she worked as a waitress at Morrison’s Drive Inn and Penny’s Drive Inn. During her later years, she enjoyed providing child care for her three grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Jonathan Browning and David George of Logan; twin daughters, Penny Vinson of Harts and Janet (Glenn) Dingess of Logan; one brother, Sonny (Laura) Pritchard; three grandchildren, Bridgette Vinson, Austin Dingess, and Ashley (Chris) Cochran; three great grandchildren, Makenzie Meade, Ethan Meade, and Sawyer Cochran; her former husband and father of her children, Johnny Browning; and host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 30th, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Church of God of Prophecy, 88 Pine St., Logan, WV, with funeral services beginning at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Elbert Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Family will serve as pallbearers.
