Audie Clemens

May 26, 1963 — December 8, 2021

Audie Clemens of Holden, WV passed away peacefully in Hurricane, WV on the evening of December 8, 2021. He was born on May 26, 1963, in Holden, WV to the late Linda Castle (Decker) of Holden, WV and the late L. H. Clemens of Chicago, IL. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Daniel Decker.

Audie was a simple kind of man. He loved his family and friends as much as someone can. He was also as stubborn as they came. Audie loved listening to music, and always had a new song (or at least new to you) to show you. He loved being in nature as, in his younger years, he was an avid hunter and loved going fishing. He was known to come home empty handed on most occasions, but you couldn’t tell by how happy he was to just go out and be alone in the woods.

Audie was a father to three children who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his son, Andy, who he missed dearly. Audie’s surviving children, Levi and Samantha (Mauricio) Clemens will remember their father as a man who loved his children. They’ll also remember how he liked to scare them by shouting incredibly loud whenever it was too quiet or jumping out from behind a door or around a corner. He thought it was hilarious. Audie was a good Dad, and his kids will always know how much he loved them.

In addition to his parents, Audie was preceded in death by his oldest son Andrew Lyall of Flushing, OH, and Grandmother of his children and his friend, Janet McNeil of Dublin, OH. Those left to miss him include his children Samantha (Mauricio) Clemens of Aiken, SC; son, Levi Clemens of Aiken, SC and his granddaughter, Margaret of Aiken, SC; Mother of his children, Constance McNeil of Dublin, OH. Sister Jody Dagostino of Steger, IL, and brothers John Clemens of Chicago, IL and Daniel Decker (Kristen) of Holden, WV. Nieces Jasmine and Brooke of Holden, WV. Cousin Steve Clemens of Holden, WV. Companion Pam White of Holden, WV. He is also survived by many other family and friends who loved him very much.

Audie will be cremated with a future service to be determined. Though his body may be gone, his spirit and his love will always stick with those who knew him. Audie’s life always seemed to be one hill after another, but he never lost who he was and who he loved. Remember the good times and forget the bad, remember the laughs and smiles and forget the sad, and remember to tell your family you love them, even if you’re mad.

Take care of Andy, and let Andy take care of you. Say hi to our grandparents and let them know how much we miss them. We can’t wait to see you again someday. - Samantha and Levi
