Ann Crews Hatcher

d. September 5, 2015

Ann Crews Hatcher of Logan passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday September 5th, 2015. She was born January 10th, 1926 in Pineville, WV she was the daughter of the late H.E. Crews and the late Zella Bly Crews. Ann was preceded in death by her husband EA “Bo” Hatcher Jr., her brothers Eddie Crews and Dr. Howard Crews, sisters Cathrine and Mary Crews and her special nephew Ned Crews. Growing up Ann always wanted to become a teacher. She fulfilled her dream teaching business classes at Chapmanville High School. Always active in sponsoring classes, clubs and working in job placement, she was truly loved as an educator. Ann was a positive role model and mentor to many of her students. She was an active member of the teacher’s sorority, Delta Kappa Gamma and the NEA. Ann was very involved with her church the First Presbyterian of Logan. She was always the first to volunteer to help organize any activity the church was hosting. Being a very spiritual person Ann loved her church family. She enjoyed attending sporting events, especially those that involved her children and grandchildren. Ann was a huge basketball fan showing her support for numerous area teams, especially the Logan Wildcats! She occupied the same seat at the field house for close to 50 years during basketball season. Ann was one of a kind; she filled her family and those around her with love and laughter. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word to speak; she never failed to put others ahead of herself. She will be remembered and missed by everyone who ever met her. Those left to cherish her memory include her 3 children: Allan Hatcher of Logan, Mark (Vickie) Hatcher of Logan and Sarah (Bob) Hatcher of Charleston. Her grandchildren: Mark (Nikki) Hatcher, Chase (Tara) Hatcher, Wes Hatcher, Marquita (Chris) Haris, Joe Hatcher, Kayla (Michael) Young and Beau Wilson.
