Alice Cheek peacefully went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2024, at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by loving husband Donald B. Cheek, her son Donald F. Cheek (Rhonda), her mother and father Millard French Steele and Sadie White Steele: Four brothers: Moss E. Steele, Millard French Steele, Jr., Paul B. Steel and Joyce E (Budgie) Steele and sister Marie Ambrose.
Alice was born in Omar, WV. She was known for her love for the Lord, family, church, community, and friends. She also loved volunteering, a good cup of coffee, corn hole and bowling. Alice spent many years working for W. L. Robinson Company and volunteered for the Coal Field Jamboree, the Logan Theater and Christmas in the Park at Chief Logan Park. She also had 35 years of volunteer service with the Logan Regional Medical Auxiliary including serving as president in the auxiliary. She was also a member of the First Christian Church in Logan.
She is survived by her sister, Shirley Amos of Barboursville, WV two grandchildren, Pam (Floyd) Mitchell of Palm Harbor Florida, Chris Cheek of Palm Harbor, Florida. Three great grandchildren Austin Mitchell (Tori) of Nashville Tennessee, Garrett Mitchell (Brooke) of Charleston, South Carolina, Abigail Mitchell of Palm Harbor, Florida and one great-great granddaughter, Scarlett Capri Mitchell (Austin and Tori).
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Christian Church in Logan WV, or Chief Logan State Park, Christmas in the Park. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
