Obituary

Ronald Russell Crum, 66, of Switzer passed away May 29, 2020 at home following a long illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Hazel Crum and his younger sister, Sheila Kaye Crum. Also preceding him in death were four special cousins: Stanley Litteral, Polly Wilburn Mullins, Terri Litteral Martin and his favorite poker opponent, Emma Jean Booth.

He was employed as a meat cutter for WV Supermarkets and Town and Country Supermarket.

Survivors include his brother, Woodrow Kennith Crum with whom he resided; his older twin, Donald Lewis (Eva) of Monaville; Sidney David Crum of West Logan and two sisters: Ruby Spradlin and Lucy Crum of Monaville. Although he had no children of his own he did have several nephews and nieces: Geoffrey Michael (Rachel) Blankenship of South Point, Ohio and their children: Zane, Owen and Vera Rose; Jack (Audrey) Blankenship of Logan and their children, Ryan of Logan and Jackie Lynn of Streets Boro, Ohio; Andrew Thomas Glycadgis III and his son, Caleb Garret of Monaville; Robert (Kimmy) Spradlin of Monaville and their children, James Robert and Tiffani; Cherry (Billy) Hatfield of Charleston; Charles Skidmore of Switzer; Jamie Lee (Greg) Mullins of Chauncey and children: Michelle, Ashlee and Kailyn; Shane Michael and Kennadee Yvonne (the baby) Vance of Monaville; Raistlin Cook of Rossmore; Samantha (Matt) Chafin of Omar and their children, Emily and Jimmy; Sidney Crum of Monaville, April Bevino and James May of West Logan. He also had two best friends, Rick Ramirez and Rick (Mooney) Wood.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Akers-James Funeral Home with Pastor John Godby officiating. At his request, his remains will be cremated following the services. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and the CDC’s guidelines for large gatherings only 25 people will be allowed in the facility at one time. Please plan your visit accordingly as you may be asked to wait before entering the building. Face coverings are also recommended when inside the building and social distancing should be taken into consideration. If anyone is unable to attend, the services will be live streamed via the link on our website www.jamesfh.com. Online condolences may also be left on our website.
