Obituary

Lorean (Williamson) Staggs, 79, of Logan, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at Trinity Nursing Home on August 18th, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Roosevelt and Pearlina Williamson, Lorean was born on April 20th, 1941, then married her one and only true love, Thomas Staggs Sr., of 62 years, on December 13th, 1957. Her first and only job was at Plaza Lanes Bowling Alley of Logan, WV for over 40 years. She was a member of Justice Christian Church and loved to sing gospel hymns, even in her final days. Lorean’s love knitted her family closely together, she was their secret keeper, and made each grandchild feel like they were her favorite.
In addition to her parents, Lorean was preceded in death by her sisters Verona Gobel and Donna (Charles) Marcum, as well as her brothers Rex Williamson and Rocky Williamson. Lorean is survived by her husband, Thomas Staggs Sr., her children Tammy (James) Gibson, Thomas (Kimberly) Staggs Jr., and Donna (Randy) Nisbet. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Dewey (Beth) McNeely, T. C. (Susan) McNeely, Jimmy Joe (Amanda) Gibson, Katie (Josh) Adkins, Benjamin Gibson, Trey (Elizabeth) Staggs, Miranda (Josh) Michaloff, Lori Staggs, and Jackson Belcher, as well as 14 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings Nola (Jerry) Klonowski, Judith (Tim) Taylor, Jerry (Glennda) Williamson, and Darlene (David) Scholander, as well as one brother in law James Gobel, and an abundance of special extended family and friends.
A public visitation will take place at Akers-James Funeral Home in Logan, WV on August 23rd, 2020 at 11am, with a private service for her family following. Due to the current restrictions, a live stream will be available on the live stream link provided by the funeral home, on their website www.jamesfh.com , as well as a live stream that will be shown in the parking lot of the funeral home for those who would like to attend the following grave side service at Highland Memory Garden in Chapmanville, WV.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and the Governor’s guidelines for large gatherings only 25 people will be allowed in the facility at one time. Please plan your visit accordingly as you may be asked to wait before entering the building. Face coverings are also required when inside the building and social distancing should be taken into consideration. Online condolences may also be left on our website or the Akers-James Funeral Home Facebook page.
