James Gordon “Possum” Perry, 54 of Verdunville, WV went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 21, 2020. James was born January 9, 1966 at Man, WV to the late Virginia Kathleen Lambert and the late Robert Perry.

James, better known as “Possum” was preceded in death by his parents. James was employed at Refab Machinary at Melville, WV and also at Fountain Place Mall Car Wash. Prior to that he had been a long-time employee of Napier’s Exxon on Holden Road. Possum also loved music, especially bluegrass, and could often be found at Pickin’ In the Park. He loved movies and bought all the new releases as soon as they came out. He was a simple man who loved the simple things in life. “Awesie Possie” as his license plate said will be greatly missed. He was loved more than he realized.

Possum was loved by many, especially his siblings, Dorsey L. Lambert of Shamrock, WV, Robert Allen Perry of Whitman, WV, Ada Mae Lawrence, and Matilda Alice Perry both of Stollings, WV. Possum was an Uncle to a host of nieces and nephews, Valerie Frye of Chapmanville, WV, Hollie (Brian) Johnson of Shamrock, WV, Brandon Cline of Greenville, SC, Elizabeth (Jacob) Warner of Waldorf, MD, Johnathan Workman of Belton, SC, and Dakota Jones of Stollings, WV. He also became a great-uncle in recent years to Bryson Johnson of Shamrock, WV, NovaLee Cline of Belton, SC, and Lily Grace Frye of Chapmanville, WV.
